Keep your expectations realistic and enjoy the pool. This property is a Category 6 property in the Marriott Rewards program, meaning you’ll need anywhere from 40,000 points to book an award night in the off-peak season to 60,000 for a night in the peak season. Five stars is way too generous and I'm feeling too nice to give it three stars even though for what they claim to be, three is about right. Why isn't it all gated? No room service at a 4-star hotel?! :( Price - we payed a boat load for a 2br and since we had no housekeeping with one restaurant and few hotel perks, we could have easily considered a home/condo rental. Lots of locals & others bumming the pool playing catch all day, but to the hotel's credit, they finally checked wristbands later in the day. Decor - for being a pretty new hotel it's like it was decorated in 2005. have they even tried the in-room coffee?) on an island with Kona right next door is a crime Pool lounge chairs with a bar right in your butt at all times, and not enough of them. In-room "luxuries" - Hawaiian Tropics shampoo/conditioner (cheap and smells like suntan lotion) and terrible drip coffee (seriously. Lack of food options - one small restaurant that was decent, but super casual right by the pool, and only one bar there with about four seats.no swim-up bar, etc, and only one server for the entire pool (bless her heart). Staff we encountered for the most part was pleasant, even if overextended Did not love: Beds - sofa bed was TERRIBLE and master bed was hard with rough sheets Lack of housekeeping - towel refresh daily but only will clean every 3rd day or more if you want to pay. Loved: Main pool - huge and really gave an amazing Hawaii resort feel Sound-proof rooms - wonderful in Kauai when there are roosters everywhere Cleanliness of rooms at arrival Size of rooms are great for families Plentiful parking Laundry! A MUST if you plan on hiking or going to the beach. Would we go back? Maybe, but only with our teens and never again by ourselves. Gorgeous grounds in a central Poipu location combined with spacious rooms (we had the 2 br villa) made for an overall good stay. The pool is what makes this property nice. The serenity pool for adults was small with no view. Hey couples! Looking to have a romantic getaway? Nope - not it. Hey families! Looking to lay by the pool most of the time (if it's sunny), and walk far to a beach? This could be a good bet.
